The orchard at the
Vaughn Family Farm was planted by Ed and Nancy Vaughn in 1994 on
land that has been in the family since 1902. In this rich soil,
outside of Jacksonville, they grow four pear varieties along
with hay, and wild blackberries.
If you come to visit, Ed has
been known to give orchard tours and put some sample pears (in
season) in your vehicle, or let you pick your own (price
negotiable) or buy a box from the cooler. To sponsor a pear tree
and receive fresh pears in season, for u-pick wild blackberries,
or fruit info email or call 541-779-3132
(cell 541-218-3821).
You can also find Vaughn pears at some of
your local supermarkets in season. Ask the produce manager if
they are ‘Vaughn Pears’. Vaughn pears are also packed and
marketed nationwide and overseas with the USA Pear /SOS sticker
by the Southern Oregon Sales Cooperative. Pears and gift boxes
